Our Story
The Story Idea (TSI) is a nonprofit news organization whose mission is to provide a voice and platform to ordinary people on matters related to climate change and the environment.
The impacts of climate change in Uganda such as drought, famine, flooding, food insecurity are most grossly felt by vulnerable communities whose voices are often muted by policy makers and mainstream media.
Many environments related policies hardly integrate the voices of those most vulnerable to impacts of climate change: women, youth, poor, elderly, disabled, LGBTQi and many other groups.
Working with other organisations that share in our values, we, through news articles, put a spotlight on activities that have negative impacts on the climate and environment, we give a voice to activists on the frontline of the climate change effort and do advocacy aimed at preserving our environment.
Our Journey
In pursuing our climate change journalism agenda, we follow the key tenets of: factuality, fairness and accuracy.
We rely on donations and support from individuals, donors and advertisements from organisations whose values align with ours. We humbly ask for any support.
